Island in the Sun

WEEZER holds a special place in my heart alongside the Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, and The Strokes as bands my brother used to play in his Suburu while driving me to middle school in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.

“Buddy Holly”, “Hash Pipe”, and “Say It Ain’t So” probably had more airtime, but this one will always be my favorite. I poked fun at the “laid-back Southern California power pop” quote in the video, but it’s kind of spot on tbh.

Side note, the name WEEZER always makes me think of that penguin character Wheezy from the movie Toy Story 2. All I can hear is “I lost my shqueaker!”

Enjoy!
