I first heard this song on a Spotify daily mix and was totally absorbed. Never thought to check the lyrics until it got stuck in my head 😂

According to an article from thelineofbestfit.com, the duo stated that “[other songs of ours] are more immediate/obvious in their meaning than Faux, which has a deeper-rooted, less positive meaning”. Dumontdumont.com praised it for its “cryptic lyrics”.

So it’s a sad love song? Whatever the meaning, the turns of phrase are certainly fun to sing (though impossible to remember, at least for me) and the melody is beautiful.
