This song is so much fun! Any time I get to play the “oom-pah” rhythm, I’m on board.

Definitely Google the original, the harmonies and guitar solo by Don Rich are on point. And shoutout to YouTube channel “James Stiltner” for the Hee Haw clip!

“The Bakersfield Sound” I mentioned is a sub genre of Country music out of Bakersfield, California from the 50’s that incorporated electric instruments and elements of rock-and-roll making for a very interesting blend. Merle Haggard would be another good example of this style (and a favorite of mine).

Oh and the tweaked lyrics for the dogs are of course, “I’ve got a (Millie/Ernie) by the tail...”
