I Know There’s Something Going On by Frida

I had a lot of fun with this one, not gonna lie. The original has become a little silly (despite the subject matter) because of the somewhat dated sound (and the music video, good gracious that is some hardcore 80’s aesthetics), and I think that spilled over into my interpretation of it.

The drums on the original are killer (Phil Collins, so no shock there) and I’ve honored that by banging on the 2 and 4 on a snare drum like a wind up monkey. Sorry, Phil.

A note on “Mr. Solo” - I’ve wanted to have a little dancing man show up on the keyboard since I started this channel, and I’ve now decided that he will make his appearance whenever I record a solo separately and I need a visual representation of that 🤪

Also, I really do think I’d make a great DJ. 🎙
